POWERTECH BREAKS INTO THE LARGE MILITARY MARKET WITH AN INITIAL CONTRACT WITH THE CANADIAN FORCES AND NATO LISTING OF ITS PRODUCTS

Terrebonne (Quebec), April 17, 2008 – PowerTech Corporation Inc. "PowerTech" (TSX-V: PWB) announced today that the Canadian Forces have agreed to purchase five of its military-ready Series 3000 PicBucket® units. An option to purchase up to 15 additional units over the next year is also part of the contract. This contract – PowerTech’s first from a military customer – represents a major commercial breakthrough into this market. As a result of the contract, the PicBucket® will be placed on the list of construction equipment approved for purchase by all countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). NATO is a political and military alliance that currently numbers 26 European and North American countries. The contract, awarded by Public Works and Government Services on behalf of the Department of National Defence as a result of a competitive process, is estimated at $300,000 and could be worth up to an additional estimated amount of $925,000.

The PicBuckets® could be used for deployed operations or for reconstruction work. Having the product registered with NATO will also allow us to explore new international commercial opportunities – in particular, with the United States Army. Our preliminary estimates indicate that this could represent a potential market for several thousand units."
