LUC MAINVILLE APPOINTED TO POWERTECH’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Mr. Mainville has a long and solid track record in corporate leadership

Terrebonne (Quebec), November 30, 2006 – Mr. Carol Murray, President and Chief Executive Officer of PowerTech Corporation Inc. “PowerTech” or the “Company” (TSX-V: PWB), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Luc Mainville to the Company’s board of directors.

Mr. Mainville is President and Chief Executive Officer of LAB Research Inc. (“LAB Research”), a contract research organization (CRO), which is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: LRI). LAB Research has 450 employees. Primarily serving companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, LAB Research supports the development of its clients’ products from its state-of-the-art facilities located in Canada, the United States, Denmark and Hungary.

Over his career, Mr. Mainville has held a number of executive positions with various private and public companies, including LAB International, RTP Pharma and Waratah Pharmaceuticals, a company which he co-founded and brought public in 2000. He also held the position of Senior Vice President and Partner with the corporate finance group at KPMG, one of Canada’s largest accounting firms. Mr. Mainville has been involved in many financing transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and close to 50 rounds of financing through which he contributed toward attracting more than $500 million in investments from Canadian, American and European sources.

“Luc’s extensive experience with high growth mode public companies will be a major benefit to our company,” said Mr. Murray. “Luc has played a significant role in helping several enterprises efficiently manage their growth and develop winning business development strategies on an international scale. PowerTech is presently intensifying its business development efforts. Mr. Mainville’s expertise and ideas will undoubtedly contribute toward the successful implementation of our expansion strategy.”

Mr. Mainville has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from McGill University, as well as a Bachelors’ degree in finance and accounting. He also holds a brokerage certificate and has received formal training in hedging and derivatives.

Luc Mainville replaces outgoing board member, Mr. André Gaumond. “Mr. Gaumond made an inestimable contribution to PowerTech. Among other contributions, he played a key role in bringing the Company public and in assisting us as as we took our first steps as a public company. The board of directors is grateful to him for his dedication and high professionalism. Mr. Gaumond’s contribution will continue to benefit the Company into the future,” concluded Mr. Murray.
