Terrebonne (Quebec), July 6, 2006 – Mr. Carol Murray, President and Chief Executive Officer of Power Tech Corporation Inc. “PowerTech” (TSX-V : PWB), today announces that the Company has received firm orders for the delivery of seven new PicBucket units, as well as struck new distribution agreements with the sister companies Low Country Machinery and Central Georgia JCB, which operate in the State of Georgia in the United States. On June 21, 2006, PowerTech also announced the conclusion of its first distribution agreement with the company Finning aimed at marketing its products in Western Canada. Four of the seven PicBucket units sold by PowerTech in recent weeks were acquired by Finning.
“The signing of these recent distribution agreements, as well as the popularity and effectiveness of our V.I.PIC trial program are today resulting in new concrete sales of our flagship product, the PicBucket, a multifunctional percussion bucket that is unique in the construction industry. In the short-term, we are confident that we will receive new orders for the PicBucket from our distribution partners and our direct customers,” added Mr. Murray.
A municipality in Ontario purchases a PicBucket
After measuring its effectiveness and reliability through the V.I.PIC program, the municipality of Penetanguishene in Ontario recently acquired a PicBucket. Mr. Alex Piggott, Operations Manager for the municipality of Penetanguishene said, “After the PicBucket trials last winter, the municipality evaluated its performance. The amount of work that a PicBucket can accomplish in one day is incredible. It will become an indispensable tool for everyone who needs to do channeling work. We believe that the PicBucket’s performance will speed up the pace of our work and provide an excellent service to our citizens.”
PowerTech now firmly established in the state of Georgia
Mr. Dusty Ziegler, President of the companies Low Country Machinery and Central Georgia JCB said that he was impressed by the PicBucket and its commercial potential. “PowerTech has a wonderful team in place and offers the necessary support to successfully introduce the PicBucket in our region. Our clients are entrepreneurs looking for solutions to reduce their operating costs in an increasingly competitive market. The PicBucket makes a real contribution to these entrepreneurs’ profit margins by providing solid productivity gains and low maintenance costs, which are clearly lower than maintenance costs for conventional equipment,” commented Mr. Ziegler.
The agreements concluded with Low Country Machinery and Central Georgia JCB enable PowerTech to adequately serve the whole market in the State of Georgia, including the City of Atlanta. “These new partnerships are in line with our market development strategy for large American cities which offer major commercial potential to PowerTech. The aging infrastructures and considerable budgets devoted to road repair in these cities provide an excellent business outlook for PowerTech in the United States. Soon, we intend to conclude new distribution agreements with other U.S. players who are well established in their markets, such as the agreements struck with Low Country Machinery and Central Georgia JCB,” underlined Mr. Yves Sicotte, Vice President Sales and Marketing at PowerTech.
